Terms and conditions
The terms for using Admin Companion
These terms govern your use of Admin Companion (the "Service"). They cover what your subscription entitles you to, what we are responsible for, and - the part that matters most in a tool like this one - what happens in your own Microsoft 365 tenant.
Version 1.0. Last updated: 9 August 2026.
The short version
Admin Companion reads your Microsoft 365 configuration and, where you ask it to, changes it. You decide what runs, and you remain responsible for your tenant. We are responsible for the Service behaving as described; we are not responsible for the consequences of the changes you choose to make with it. The sections below say that properly.
1. What the Service is
Admin Companion is a subscription service that connects to your Microsoft 365 tenant to assess its configuration against security benchmarks, produce reports, and - where you enable them - carry out administrative actions and remediations that you approve.
It is a standard product. It is supplied with the features described in our documentation and sales material at the time of your subscription. We do not warrant that it meets a requirement you have assumed but not agreed with us in writing, and features may be added, changed, or withdrawn as the product develops and as Microsoft changes the platforms it depends on.
2. Your subscription
Your subscription grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for your own organization, for the term and the scope you have subscribed to, and for no longer.
You may not resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to a third party unless we have agreed that in writing. You may not attempt to circumvent any limit, access control, or metering in the Service, nor use it to build a competing product.
We may check that your use matches what you have subscribed to. If it does not, we may invoice the difference.
3. Your Microsoft 365 tenant is yours
This is the most important section on this page, so it is written plainly.
Admin Companion acts in your tenant using permissions you grant it, on instructions you give it. Every action and remediation is something you configured, approved, or scheduled. Before anything is changed, the Service shows you what it intends to do.
You are responsible for your Microsoft 365 tenant, its configuration, its data, and the consequences of any change made in it - including changes made through Admin Companion. That responsibility includes deciding whether a change is appropriate for your environment, reviewing what a preview tells you before approving it, holding your own backups, and complying with your own policies, contracts, and regulatory obligations.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from changes made in your tenant, including without limitation: access granted or removed; mailboxes, groups, users, devices, or policies created, altered, or deleted; interruption of your users' work; data that becomes inaccessible or is lost; or any regulatory, contractual, or reputational consequence of your tenant's configuration.
This applies however the change was initiated - manually, on a schedule, or by an approval given by one of your users - and whether or not the outcome was the one you intended.
We are equally not responsible for the acts or omissions of your personnel, for permissions you grant beyond what a feature requires, for a tenant that is misconfigured independently of the Service, or for how Microsoft's own services behave.
4. What we are responsible for
We are responsible for providing the Service with reasonable skill and care, for it functioning materially as described in our documentation, and for handling your data as set out in our privacy notice, whose "Data we process in the Service" section covers what the Service reads from your tenant, what it produces from it, where it is processed, and how long it is kept.
Where we are found liable despite the above, our total liability to you in any twelve-month period is limited to the subscription fees you paid for the Service in that period. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of data.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited - including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for gross negligence or willful misconduct.
5. Availability, and things outside our control
We aim to keep the Service available and to give notice of planned maintenance, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
The Service depends on Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure. Where those platforms are unavailable, rate-limit our requests, change their behavior, or return incomplete data, the Service may be delayed, degraded, or unable to complete. We are not liable for that, though we will report it honestly in the product where we can detect it.
6. Your account and your users
You are responsible for your accounts and credentials, for who you invite, for the roles you give them, and for actions taken under your accounts. Tell us promptly if you believe an account has been compromised.
7. Our intellectual property
Admin Companion, including its software, documentation, benchmark content, and branding, remains our property. Your subscription grants a right to use it, not ownership of it. You may not copy, decompile, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from the Service except to the extent that restriction is unenforceable by law.
Your data - your tenant's configuration, the findings and reports produced from it - remains yours.
8. Suspension and termination
Either party may end the subscription in accordance with the agreement between us. We may suspend access where use of the Service threatens its security or stability, or where fees are unpaid, and we will tell you why.
On termination your right to use the Service ends. Removing the Service's access to your tenant, and cleaning up anything it created there, is something you should do as part of your own offboarding.
9. No partnership
These terms do not create a partnership, agency, joint venture, or employment relationship. Neither party may act for, or take on obligations on behalf of, the other.
10. Supply through a partner
Where you obtain Admin Companion through one of our partners, any additional services that partner provides are agreed between you and them, and are not covered by these terms. Our obligations to you under these terms stand regardless of whether the partner meets its own.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product and the law develop. We will update the version and date at the top of this page, and material changes will be notified to subscribers. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by Danish law. The parties will attempt to resolve any dispute through mediation, jointly appointing a mediator or accepting one recommended by a recognized institution, before commencing proceedings.
