Accessibility statement

This statement covers the Admin Companion website at www.admincompanion.com. It does not cover the application itself, which is behind sign-in - see "The application" below.

What we aim at

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 at level AA. That is the level most procurement questionnaires ask for, and it is the level we hold ourselves to on new work.

We are not claiming full conformance. No independent audit has been carried out yet, so we describe below what we have actually tested and what we know is still wrong, rather than asserting a result we have not verified.

What we have done

  • Every page has one main heading, headings in order, and landmark regions a screen reader can jump between.
  • The "Skip to main content" link moves focus to the main region.
  • Colour is never the only way information is conveyed, and the palette is checked against AA contrast in both light and dark appearance, including Windows High Contrast.
  • The navigation, the cookie banner and the contact and ROI forms are operable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
  • Form fields have labels, required fields say so in words rather than by an asterisk alone, and errors are announced.
  • The ROI calculator announces its result once the numbers settle, rather than interrupting on every keystroke.
  • Decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology, and the illustrative dashboards on "Inside the app" are exposed as illustrations rather than as real tenant data.
  • The site respects a reduced-motion preference.
  • The cookie banner no longer covers the element that has focus.

What we know is not right yet

These are the limitations we are aware of at the date above. We would rather list them than let you find them.

  • If JavaScript loads but fails. The site is built to work without JavaScript, and does. If the script starts loading and then fails or is blocked part-way, some sections that animate into view can stay hidden until the page is reloaded.
  • No independent audit. Testing so far is our own, using automated checks and manual keyboard and screen-reader passes. We have not commissioned a third-party review.
  • No formal screen-reader test matrix. We test with the screen readers we have to hand rather than against a published matrix of reader and browser combinations.
  • One glyph falls back. A right-arrow character used in a few links renders in a substitute font, so it can look slightly out of place. It is decorative and does not change meaning.

The application

Admin Companion itself - the part you sign in to - is a separate product with its own interface, and this statement does not cover it. We apply the same WCAG 2.2 AA target to it, and if you need a statement scoped to the application for a procurement process, ask us and we will prepare one rather than point you at this page.

Tell us when something does not work

If any part of this site stops you doing what you came to do, tell us and we will fix it. Say what you were trying to do and what happened; the page address and the browser or assistive technology you were using help, but do not worry if you do not have them.

We aim to respond within five working days. If a fix will take longer than that, we will tell you what we are doing and when to expect it, and we will offer the information another way in the meantime.

How this statement is kept honest

We review this page when the site changes materially, and at least once a year. The date at the top is the last review, not the last deploy. When we fix something listed above, it comes off the list rather than staying there as a hedge.
